Virat Kohli confirms 2027 World Cup will be his last
Kohli has confirmed that the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 will be his final World Cup for India.
“For me, it’s the last World Cup I’m going to play for India. And that is my motivation. And of course, the goal is absolutely to win the World Cup. And whatever it takes, I’m absolutely ready,” Kohli told JioStar in an interview.
This statement is important because Kohli has already left Test cricket and T20I cricket. ODI cricket is now the only international format he plays.

“When the World Cup is played, when we play an ICC tournament, it has its own unique challenge, because you face different opponents, you play at different venues. So, you have to prepare differently, think in a different way and that is the challenge,” he added.
Rohit’s words show that he is also looking towards 2027. He was part of India’s 2023 World Cup campaign as captain. India reached the final but lost to Australia.
Unlike Kohli, Rohit has not publicly confirmed in these comments that the 2027 World Cup will be his final World Cup.
