Kabaddi has been part of Indian sports for many years. People have played it in villages, schools, and local grounds across the country. But the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), which started in 2014, changed the sport in a big way.

PKL brought professional teams, famous players, big auctions, exciting matches, strong rivalries, and modern TV coverage. It helped kabaddi reach more fans and gave the sport a new identity. The league started with eight teams and became one of India’s biggest sports leagues.

Several teams have built a strong legacy in PKL. Patna Pirates won three titles in a row. Jaipur Pink Panthers and Dabang Delhi K.C. have won the title twice. U Mumba, Bengaluru Bulls, Bengal Warriors, Puneri Paltan, and Haryana Steelers have also won the trophy.

All Pro Kabaddi League Winners

Here are the champions of all editions of the Pro Kabaddi League.

PKL 2014 – Jaipur Pink Panthers

Jaipur Pink Panthers became the first-ever Pro Kabaddi League champions. In the first final, Jaipur beat U Mumba 35-24 and won the trophy.

Captain Navneet Gautam led the team with confidence. Jaipur handled the pressure well and set a strong example for other teams. Their win made them the first champions in PKL history.

PKL 2015 – U Mumba

U Mumba finished second in the first season but won the title in 2015. They beat Bengaluru Bulls 36-30 in the final.

Captain Anup Kumar led the team with calm and smart decisions. U Mumba played well throughout the season. Shabeer Bappu’s Super Raid in the final became a key moment of their title win.

PKL 2016 (January) – Patna Pirates

Patna Pirates won their first PKL title in 2016. They beat defending champions U Mumba 31-28 in the final.

Pardeep Narwal became a big star for Patna with his strong raiding. Sandeep Narwal also helped the team in defence.

PKL 2016 (June) – Patna Pirates

Patna Pirates won the title again in the second 2016 season. They beat Jaipur Pink Panthers 37-29 in the final.

This win made Patna the first team to win two PKL titles. Pardeep Narwal led the attack, while Fazel Atrachali strengthened the defence. This win also started Patna’s famous three-title streak.

PKL 2017 – Patna Pirates

Patna Pirates made PKL history in 2017. They beat Gujarat Giants 55-38 in the final and won their third title in a row.

Pardeep Narwal was the star again. He scored 369 raid points, made 18 Super Raids, and got 19 Super 10s. He also won the MVP award.

Patna’s three straight titles remain one of the biggest achievements in PKL history. During this time, Patna became the team that every other team wanted to beat.

PKL 2018-19 – Bengaluru Bulls

Bengaluru Bulls ended Patna’s long run and won their first PKL title.

Bengaluru beat Gujarat Fortunegiants 38-33 in the final. Pawan Sehrawat was the star of the match. He scored 22 points and helped Bengaluru win the trophy.

Sehrawat finished the season with 282 points and won the MVP award. His fast and powerful raids became a key part of Bengaluru’s success.

PKL 2019 – Bengal Warriors

Bengal Warriors won their first PKL title in 2019. They beat Dabang Delhi K.C. 39-34 in the final.

Mohammad Esmaeil Nabibakhsh scored a key Super 10 and helped Bengal win the match.

Captain Maninder Singh missed the final because of an injury. Still, Bengal played with confidence and finished the job. It was a special win for the team.

PKL 2021-22 – Dabang Delhi K.C.

PKL returned after a season affected by COVID-19. Dabang Delhi K.C. won their first PKL title.

Delhi beat Patna Pirates 37-36 in a very close final. The match ended with just one point between the teams.

Captain Joginder Narwal gave the team important experience. Young star Naveen Kumar also played a big role. He won his second straight MVP award and helped Delhi win their first title.

PKL 2022 – Jaipur Pink Panthers

Jaipur Pink Panthers waited almost eight years to win their second PKL title. They finally won it in Season 9.

Jaipur beat Puneri Paltan 33-29 in the final. Arjun Deshwal played a big role in their success. He scored 296 raid points and won the MVP award.

Ankush also had a great season in defence. He scored 89 tackle points, which was the highest by a debutant at that time. Jaipur showed how strong raiding and defence can help a team win the title.

PKL 2023-24 – Puneri Paltan

Puneri Paltan won their first PKL title in Season 10. Pune beat Haryana Steelers 28-25 in the final.

The team did not depend on just one star player. They worked well as a team. Aslam Inamdar played an important role and won the MVP award.

The season also brought back the 12-city format. This allowed teams to play in front of their home fans again.

PKL 2024 – Haryana Steelers

Haryana Steelers won their first PKL title in Season 11.

Haryana beat the experienced Patna Pirates 32-23 in the final. This was a big win because Patna had already won three titles and had lots of experience in big finals.

Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui played a key role and won the MVP award. Captain Jaideep Dahiya also led the team well throughout the season.

The Steelers’ win added another new champion to PKL history.

PKL 2025 – Dabang Delhi K.C.

Dabang Delhi K.C. won their second PKL title in 2025.

Delhi beat Puneri Paltan 31-28 in the final. They added another trophy to the one they won in 2021-22.

This win made Delhi one of the most successful teams in recent PKL history. It also made them the second team, after Jaipur Pink Panthers, to win the PKL title twice.

What Makes the PKL Winners List Interesting? 

The history of PKL champions shows how the league has changed over the years. Jaipur Pink Panthers won the first title in 2014. U Mumba won the next season, followed by Patna Pirates, who won three titles in a row.

After that, more teams started winning the trophy. Bengaluru Bulls, Bengal Warriors, Dabang Delhi K.C., Puneri Paltan, and Haryana Steelers all became champions and made their mark in PKL history.
