Pakistan deserve credit for their comeback
India won the match, but Pakistan showed great fighting spirit. At 0-3, Pakistan could have lost control of the game. Instead, they kept attacking. They scored three goals without reply and made India work hard until the final seconds.
Abu Mahmood, Hannan Shahid and Rana Waheed scored the three goals that brought Pakistan back into the match. The comeback also showed one problem for India. India need to improve their defence before the final.
Captain Harmanpreet Singh, speaking to Sony Sports Network (broadcaster) after the match, said India started well but made some defensive mistakes in the second half. He also said the team knew how to create chances. India did that again when they needed a goal most.
That is an important point from the semifinal. India did not play a perfect game. But they created one more chance when the match was almost over. And they converted it. Harmanpreet also said India would try not to repeat the mistakes from this game in the gold-medal match.
