India WTC 2025-27 Schedule: The World Test Championship 2025 Final is already set to take place from June 11 at the iconic Lord’s, London. Team India, who made it to the first two WTC finals in 2021 and 2023, could not reach the final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 Final. Now, Team India WTC 2025-2027 schedule is out and as usual, they will host three test series at home and play three outside India, against six different oppositions. The first assignment for Team India in the WTC 2025-27 is one of the hardest in the cycle. They will start the cycle with a 5-match away series against England.

WTC 2025-27 Schedule: Fixtures of Team India
Team India will start their WTC 2025-27 campaign with a 5-match series against England in England. The series will begin from June 20 at Headingley, Leeds. Kennington Oval, London will host the 5th and last test of the series, starting from July 31, 2025.

We have seen in the past as well that England is a tough place for an Asian side. Team India has won the last test series in England way back in 2007 under the leadership of Rahul Dravid. They did well to drew the series 2-2 when they last visited England in 2021. The last match of the series happened in 2022 due to COVID-19 outbreak. But, countering swing in English conditions will not be an easy task for the Indian batters.

West Indies Tour of India 2025
After the away England series, the next in India’s WTC 2025-27 schedule is 2-match home series against West Indies. WI will be a ‘relatively’ easier opponent, and that too at home.

South Africa Tour of India 2025
Team India will again play a 2-match series at home, this time against South Africa. The test team does not have a great time in the recent past. Considering their home series loss against New Zealand in 2024, India will have to be careful of the Proteas threat.

India Tour of Sri Lanka 2026
After playing a home series against SA, Team India will play the next test almost after eight months. They will tour Sri Lanka for a 2-match series in August. The Indian batters has struggled against the spinners for a while. Sri Lanka have some quality spinners in the team. If they make some lively pitches that assist the spinners, it will be interesting to see how the Indian batters counter that challenge.
The schedule for the India vs Sri Lanka 2026 tests is not announced as of March 26, 2025.
India Tour of New Zealand 2026
Team India will again travel overseas for a 2-match test series against New Zealand at their home. The Indian team has not won a series in New Zealand since 2009. They have travelled to New Zealand two times after that, in 2014 and 2020. The Indian team lost the series 1-0 and 2-0 respectively in a 2-match series’ on both the tours.

New Zealand has a strong record at their home, especially against Team India. The schedule of this series is not announced yet. It is likely to be played between October and December in 2026.

Australia Tour of India 2027: Probably the Biggest Rivalry in the WTC 2025-27 Schedule
Team India’s last WTC 2025-27 assignment is against Australia at home. The cycle will end with the biggest test rivalry of this generation. Australia will tour India in January-February 2027 for a 5-match test series. India will look to settle the score of the last Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) that happened in Australia in 2024-25. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has not announced the schedule of the series, as of March 26, 2025.
