Australia’s Batting Unit Fires in Decider

Australia started off well as both openers, Alyssa Healy and Georgia Voll, gave a flying start to the team. Healy scored 30 runs off just 18 balls, and Voll continues to play her shots. India Women Tried Hard, but Fell Short

India Women, in reply, have also started off well in a run chase. Although they lost 2 wickets in the powerplay, they were going at 10 runs per over at one stage. Smriti Mandhana continues to attack the opposition bowlers, and captain Harmanpreet Kaur joined her at the crease. The counter-attack from these two puts Australian women under pressure at one stage. India were 206 for 2 in just 20 overs.

Smriti Mandhana completed her 100 in just 50 balls, becoming the 2^nd fastest centurion in Women’s ODI cricket. Harmanpreet also scored 52 runs off just 35 balls, and along with Smriti, she added 121 runs for the 3^rd wicket in just 11.2 overs.

Kim Garth broke the partnership by taking Harmanpreet on the first ball of the 21^st over. Deepti Sharma came to the crease, but India started to lose wickets at regular intervals after the Smriti-Harmanpreet partnership.
