MSD has his say on the final decisions regarding the franchise’s auction picks, playing XI, helping Gaikwad on the field, and even when to bat in the game.

As far as MSD’s batting is concerned, he came out to bat only when few overs are left, or when all the main batters (sometimes including the all-rounders) got out. It is the case in the last few seasons of the IPL. But now, the fans are questioning MS Dhoni’s place in the team, and thinks that his utility is compromised as a batter.

In the field, he is doing well in terms of wicketkeeping, still has the ability to stump the batters on the blink of their eyes. Reasons Why MS Dhoni Should Retire?

• Limited Involvement:-

MS Dhoni only plays in the IPL now. That means, he is not in touch with his batting for the whole year. We have also seen him not perforimng as effective as he was with the bat in the past.

• Age and Fitness:-

MS Dhoni is suffering from a knee issue in the last few seasons. This is also a reason why he came out to bat late, stated by the franchise. His is 43, and will turn 44 in July. No matter how much you exercise, when the age comes, it doesn’t spare even the best.

• Declining Batting Form:-

Dhoni’s batting form keeps declining year by year. His finishing ability isn’t as consistent as it once was.

MSD wont be with CSK forever. There will be a day when CSK has to look after MS Dhoni. They needs to groom new leaders and players for the future.

If MS Dhoni retires now, his legacy wont be affected. Even if he plays for the next few seasons as well and did not perform well, his legacy would still be there. He has only scored 3 runs in a winning chases since the IPL 2023, as compare to 166 runs with an average of 83 and a strike rate of almost 198 in unsuccessful chases.
