Sanju Samson Sreesanth Handshake matter

Sreesanth-Sanju Samson Handshake Mystery Takes Internet By Storm: What Happened at KCL 2026 Final?

A small moment during the Kerala Cricket League 2026 final presentation ceremony has become a big talking point involving two of Kerala’s most famous cricketers. A viral video featuring S Sreesanth and Sanju Samson has made fans wonder if something is wrong between the two stars.

The reason is simple but easy to notice.

When Sreesanth walked onto the stage, he greeted and shook hands with people during the presentation. However, he seemed to skip Sanju Samson, who was already on the stage with the trophy and other officials.

That one moment was enough to start many discussions on social media.

There was no clear handshake between Sreesanth and Sanju Samson, even though Sreesanth shook hands with other people on the stage. This led fans to ask: Is there a rift between Sreesanth and Sanju Samson?

However, fans should also remember one important point. Neither Sreesanth nor Samson has publicly confirmed any fallout between them. So, the viral video alone cannot prove that the two Kerala stars have a personal issue.

Why Sreesanth-Sanju Samson Video Has Created So Much Buzz

Both players have a strong connection with Kerala cricket, but they come from different generations of Indian cricket.

Sreesanth was one of India’s well-known fast bowlers during the 2000s. He was part of India’s winning teams in the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup.

Samson, on the other hand, became one of Kerala’s biggest batting stars. He later became an important player in India’s white-ball setup.

Because of this, their lack of interaction at a public event became more noticeable.

The video does not show either player explaining what happened. Neither player has given a confirmed statement saying that the moment happened because of a disagreement.

So, for now, the Sreesanth-Sanju Samson rift is only speculation. It is not a confirmed fact.

What Happened in the Kerala Cricket League 2026 Final?

The moment took place after an exciting KCL 2026 final at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

The Thrissur Titans won their first Kerala Cricket League title after beating the Calicut Globstars in a close chase.

Calicut scored 167/9 in 20 overs and gave Thrissur a target of 168. The Titans chased the target with 169/6 in 19.3 overs and won the match by four wickets.

Ahammed Imran played an important role in the chase and won the Player of the Match award. Captain M S Akhil also made an important contribution as Thrissur won their first KCL title.

The final had plenty of action, but the short interaction involving Sreesanth and Samson created a different kind of buzz after the match.

Wasim Jaffer Also Raised Questions Over Sanju Samson ODI Future

The viral moment comes when people are already discussing Sanju Samson’s cricketing future across formats.

Former India batter Wasim Jaffer recently shared his opinion about Samson’s chances of playing in the 2027 ODI World Cup.

While talking about India’s plans for the tournament, Jaffer said he does not see Samson as the best backup opener.

Jaffer pointed to consistency as the main concern.

“I do not see Sanju Samson as a backup opener for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027; I think there’s a slight issue of consistency with him.”

Jaffer praised Samson’s ability and also mentioned his century in his latest ODI. However, he said India could have better options for the backup-opening role.

He also explained that ODI cricket needs more consistency because batters have more time to play their innings.

Jaffer finally suggested that Samson should focus on T20 cricket instead of being considered for India’s backup-opening role for the 2027 World Cup.

“I feel Sanju should be left alone to play T20 cricket.”

Jaffer’s comments have added another topic to the current discussion around Sanju Samson. However, there is no confirmed link between his comments and the viral Sreesanth incident.

Sreesanth and Sanju Samson Have Both Been Part of India’s World Cup Success

Although they played in different generations, Sreesanth and Sanju Samson have both been part of India’s World Cup-winning teams.

Sreesanth was part of India’s squads for the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup.

Samson was part of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup-winning squad and also played a part in India’s 2026 T20 World Cup victory.

This shared World Cup connection makes the viral presentation moment even more interesting for Kerala cricket fans.

Still, fans should not treat a short video as proof of a controversy. A missed handshake can raise questions, but the real reason behind the moment remains unknown unless the players themselves explain it.

For now, the Sreesanth and Sanju Samson handshake video has created a lot of curiosity. But is it a sign of a real rift, or was it simply an awkward moment during the presentation ceremony? Only the two cricketers can say for sure.
